A large-scale action, named “For life without addiction” was arranged by the International Charitable Non-government Organization “Health into the 21st century”. It was held on Sunday October 18th in the very heart of shopping centre “Stalitsa”. The main objective of the action was to draw the attention of community to the problems of drug, alcohol, or nicotine addictions. It was decided not only to talk about how dangerous such habits are. The participants of the action demonstrated at their own example a wonderful alternative: fencing, dramatic art, music, dancing pastime.

All visitors of the shopping centre have seen exhibition fencing battles with sword, rapier and sabre with participation of sportsmen from fencing club Fence.by and young fencers from Minsk. Also in the action participated wheelchair-bound sportsmen-invalids, representatives from Republican Fence Federation, Republican association “Mothers against drugs”.

A performance by Irina Moshchenskaya “Untitled” opened the action. During the performance a film about drug addiction also by her authorship was being shown.

A folk-band “Gamanina” of the Belarusian University of Informatics and Electronics demonstrated a striking dance-singing performance. The moderator Olga Bogdanovich managed professionally to present the idea of the action. 

Ethno-band “Khortitsa” together with a dancing duet “LiKo”, Nikita Tsekhanovich and Jara Lisitskaya, showed a brilliant example of harmonious and peaceful life. Because the guys not only take part in such actions – they have given up all their pernicious habits, and moreover – decided to move into the country in order to live in harmony with nature in their family estates. A special attention of the audience was been drawn by the “Magic theatre” and their performance “Labyrinth”. So often people face a labyrinth, in the permanent search of something, some of them are trying to forget themselves, their true nature in the constant parties, drugs, endless earning money. But all this is only an illusion. The way out is in something different…
