 In Belarus, the nightmare of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster persists in the faces of the young children living at the Minsk Orphanage. Most of the 90 children who consider this orphanage their home, suffer from birth defects and developmental delays attributed to one of the worst radioactive explosions in human history. According to official post-Soviet data, about 60% of the radioactive fallout landed in Belarus. |

 THANKS TO a charitable telephone line «Save life!» the charity could gladden kids and employees of the specialized Vitebsk Baby Orphanage with special gifts. New furnishing (27 pillows and 27 mattresses) were bought. But not just ordinary pillows and mattresses, but waterproof sewn by advanced technologies. The product cover is made of a breathing waterproof fabric. The waterproof pillow is filled by the cellulose ecocotton wool.

 A large-scale action, named “For life without addiction” was arranged by the International Charitable Non-government Organization “Health into the 21st century”. It was held on Sunday October 18th in the very heart of shopping centre “Stalitsa”. The main objective of the action was to draw the attention of community to the problems of drug, alcohol, or nicotine addictions. It was decided not only to talk about how dangerous such habits are. The participants of the action demonstrated at their own example a wonderful alternative: fencing, dramatic art, music, dancing pastime.

 The project for the support of the orphanages for the babies goes on. The next recipient has become the orphanage located in Bobruisk, town in a Mogilev district.
But this time the project was not limited to the delivery of the humanitarian aid (dispensable, clothes, toys, musical instruments). The main peculiarity of the children from these orphanages is slow intellectual growth and development caused by the lack of attention and individual treatment. That's why for the purposes of the sustainable development the main attention was paid to the personnel training. Montessori room was created.

On December, 17th, 2009 the medical equipment “ Infant Incubator” at the cost of more than 22 000 000 Belarus rubles (7,200 USD) was gratuitously transferred to the obstetric divisions of Svetlogorsk Central Regional Hospital (Gomel region).
